NPA MD says Hadiza warriors will retain maritime trophy

The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman has expressed confidence in the ability of NPA’s football team fondly called ‘Hadiza Warriors’ to retain the Maritime Cup in 2019.

Usman said that NPA would be stronger in the 2019 games, though Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, which NPA defeated in final 4-1 is strong this year.

The NPA boss while receiving the Maritime Cup from the General Manager, Human Resources and Chairman Nigerian Ports Sports Association, NIPOSA, Alhaji Yahaya Bukar in Lagos, said the victory was historic, especially since it was the 10th anniversary of the competition, sponsored by Ships and Ports Media limited.

She enthused,   “The entire work force should imbibe the spirit of fair play and integrity, as it would ultimately help them to grow in confidence to do greater exploit in their endeavors.”

In the same vein, Alhaji Bukar expressed great pleasure to the management of NPA for cooperation, especially on sporting activities, stressed that winning Maritime cup was a reward of consistent support the current management gives to sports.

He commended NPA management for resuscitating NIPOSA games after15 years, even as he expressed optimism on NPA’s greater achievements on sports in the future.
