Ogun Customs hosts traditional rulers at Idiroko

.Says working synergy imperative for trade facilitation

It was a commendable exercise at Idiroko, the border between Nigeria and Republic of Benin, as Ogun Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, hosted Heads of traditional institutions within the border communities.

The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of Ogun Command, Maiwada A. A, explained that the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of Ogun Command, Comptroller Agbara Ojobo Michael, convened the meeting in recognition of the fact that working collaboration with other agencies,  as well as traditional rulers is important for trade facilitation, revenue generation and anti-smuggling activities.

Speaking further, he stressed that the meeting was also an effort on the part of Ogun Customs to rekindle the relationship between the Service and host communities at the border areas of Ogun State.

According to the PRO, the meeting paved the way for important issues to be articulated, on how best to improve Customs, community relations among other discussions.

At the end, the CAC expressed great pleasure on vital issues discussed and promised to resuscitate the forum, as he said that the meeting would take place on quarterly basis.
