Comptroller Musa hands over Apapa Customs with over N210.2bn

It was a remarkable moment at Apapa Command of  Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, as top officers and Journalists witnessed the smooth handing over of the   Command by Comptroller Jibrin Musa, the out-going Customs Area Controller, CAC, with a whooping sum of over N210.2billion revenue raked into the coffers of Federal Government, from January to July, 2018.

Giving a breakdown of the revenue statistics, Comptroller Musa explained that the amount shows 84.6percent collection of the seven months target, when compared with N196.7billion generated the same period in 2017.

Comparatively, the N210.2billion revenue realised under the supervision of Comptroller Musa within the period under review, shows increase of over N13.5billion with percentage increase of 6.9, when compared to what was collected the same period in 2017.

The words of Comptroller Musa, while handing over to the new CAC, Comptroller Abubakar Bashir, “It is worthy to mention that the Command has a monthly revenue target of N35.5billion, accumulating to N246.6 billion”.

His assertion, “The success recorded by Apapa Command was due to introduction of the Nigeria Integrated Customs Information System, NICIS II, and exemplary leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC, Hameed Ali. The dedication of officers and men of the Command also contributed to the success in huge revenue generated so far”.

Comptroller Musa enthused, “The significance of this unrivaled attainment would be better appreciated when compared with what the Command generated in 2017, in the months under review, which was N196.7billion. There is an increase of N13.5billion in revenue when compared to what was collected in 2017”.

The exercise ended with an ‘Award of outstanding performance in revenue generation’ bestowed on Comptroller Musa, (the Gentleman CAC) by Search Light News.

In his response, Musa dedicated the Award to CGC Ali Hameed and entire officers of the Command, even as senior officers, who witnessed the occasion, described the Award as an honour well deserved by the Gentleman CAC.

Comptroller Musa specifically commended the Public Relations Unit of the Command for remarkable performance and due diligence throughout his tenure as the CAC of Apapa Command.
