Seme Customs rakes in over N575.6million

The Seme Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has raked in N575.6miilin revenue in the month of July, 2018 fiscal year.
Financial Business gathered that the anti-smuggling unit of the Command also realised N130.8million from 91 seizures, as Duty Paid Value, DPV, recorded in the same month under review.
According to the out-going Customs Area Controller, CAC, Comptroller Mohammed Aliyu, in a document made available to Financial Business, the money generated this period represents 85 percent of the revenue target of the Command.
In the same vein, the Command recorded remarkable seizure of Fire Spice Gin with 42percent concentration of alcohol. Over 2000 cartons of the items were found concealed in a truck with the intention of evading Customs control. The seized items have DPV of over N13million.
