See promotion as wake up call to do more –Says Comptroller Sarkin-Kebbi

The Customs Area Controler ,CAC, Western Marine Command, WMC, of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Comptroller Sarkin Kebbi, M.M has charged newly promoted officers to see their promotion as a wake-up call to higher duties.
He said this at the Command Headquarters, Ibafon Apapa when he and his management team decorated over 39 officers who were recently promoted.
The officers promoted include two Superintendents of Customs (SC) who were promoted to Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC),three Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) promoted to Superintendents of Customs (SC), one Assistant Superintendents of Customs (ASCII), promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Customs (ASC1) and 33 Marine Inspectors of Customs (IC), promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Customs(ASCI)
The CAC charged all officers to sit-up and report any bad thing happening in the creeks and other seats. The CAC said, “You have been rewarded with those new ranks, as such, more is expected from you. I am advising you to renew your dedication”.
The CAC was particularly happy that most of the marine junior officers have been promoted to the superintendent rank.
Comptroller Sarkin-Kebbi, M.M described the process leading to the promotion as credible, transparent and based on merit. Deputy Comptroller DC Usman in charge of Administration, advised the promoted officers to be more dedicated to their duties.
Deputy Comptroller DC Adamu, A.M, in charge of Enforcement, said the newly promoted officers should justify the reason why they are promoted out of many officers who did the same examination. He said more seizures are expected to be seen in the Command. Also, the C.I.U team leader said there should be unity of purpose between the Marine and the General Duty officers in the Command for efficient and effective operation.
Lawal, S.A, the Staff Officer of the Command and newly promoted officer to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Customs, on behalf of the newly promoted officers thanked the NCS Management for the promotion. He pledged to justify the trust that comes with elevation to a higher rank. He also thanked the CAC and his management team for their moral, as well as fatherly advice to officers of the Command always.
