Apparently, the Nigeria Customs Service ,NCS, is poised for greater development this 2018, as Comptroller BASHAR YUSUF, the immediate past Customs Area Controller ,CAC, of Tincan Island Command, takes over as the Head of Pre-Arrival Assessment Report ,PAAR, Ruling Centre.
Bashar, described by many maritime stakeholders as a competent and highly knowledgeable Officer of the Service, handed over Tincan with outstanding revenue records of N287.6billion generated in 2017, and over N544billion realised in two years, as CAC of the Command, being the highest in the records of Tincan as a Command.
Comptroller Bashar who is also a World Customs Organisation ,WCO, ‘Certified Resource Person’ in capacity building, handed over Tincan to Comptroller Mohammed Abdullahi Baba Musa.
Some Customs Brokers and maritime stakeholders in a chat with Financial Business & Maritime News, said that PAAR Ruling Centre will experience increased effectiveness, in order to fast track Customs operations with Comptroller Bashar as the Head.
The Public Relations Officer ,PRO, of Tincan, UCHE EJESIEME, in a press statement signed and made available to Financial Business & Maritime News said that Comptroller Bashar who has performed creditably in the last two years handed over Tincan to another competent CAC, Comptroller Musa.

The new Controller has promised to build on the legacies of his predecessor in all ramifications and called for support of all critical stakeholders in the task ahead.
Comptroller Musa was born in 1964 and enlisted into the Service as Cadet Officer in 1990. He has served in various capacities, which includes Zone ‘A’, headquarters in 2005 – 2006, Tariff and Trade headquarter’s department from 2011 to 2017, Post Clearance Audit ,PCA, where he was in-charge of System Audit.
