Mob attack: Victim of stray bullet stable in hospital- Says Customs PRO

The pregnant woman at Sango area of Ogun State, identified as Mrs. B. Olugunna, a victim of stray bullet, resulting from a mob attack against Customs Officers on duty is now feeling fine in the hospital.

Financial Business & Maritime News inquest revealed that the woman’s health is fine at the moment, even as the pregnancy is also in good condition.

The Public Relations Officer, Federal Operations Unit ,FOU, Zone ‘A’ of Nigeria Customs Service ,NCS, Mr. Jerry Attah, in a chat with our correspondent explained that the woman was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment when the incident happened.

Attah said, “She is responding to treatment and feeling better right now. I spoke with the woman personally through the OC of the team and was happy that she is doing well. To show his passion and concern for the victim, the OC of the team promised that she must be well treated, even if it means using his own salary”.

On how the incident actually happened, he explained,  “The Officers are attached to CGC’s Compliance Team. They  were trailing smuggled vehicles but on getting to Sango area, some people instigated a mob action against those Officers who were on duty.

He went on, “When the mob attack became very fierce, the Officers  fired into the air to disperse the hoodlums.  In the process, the pregnant woman who was passing through the area was brushed by stray bullet.  The Officers were in Sango police station for safety”.
